Privacy Policy

Last updated September 28, 2026

afewpics is a weekly photo-sharing reminder. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and what it never does, especially with Google user data.

Information afewpics collects

  • Account info. An email address, and either a password (hashed, never stored in plain text) or a Google account identity, whichever you sign up with.
  • Your circle. The name and email address of anyone you add to your circle, by hand or from a suggestion.
  • Photos you upload. Used to build your weekly email draft.

Google user data, specifically

If you connect Google, afewpics requests access to Gmail (to build your weekly draft and suggest people worth adding) and Google Contacts (to enrich those suggestions with names and relationship info). Here's exactly what that does and doesn't mean:

  • afewpics never reads or stores the body of any email. Only message headers (who a message is to, from, and cc'd, and its subject line) are read, and only to find people worth suggesting.
  • afewpics never sends email on your behalf. afewpics creates a Gmail draft, photos attached, your circle already BCC'd. You review it and hit send yourself, in your own Gmail.
  • Contacts data (names, saved relationships, birthdays on file) is used only to label suggestions, such as recognizing a saved family relationship. It's read live when you visit your circle page, not copied into afewpics's database.
  • Your Google refresh token is stored (encrypted at rest by the database provider) only so afewpics can keep making these requests on your behalf, until you disconnect Google.

afewpics's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Photos and storage

Full-resolution photos you upload go straight into your Gmail draft as an attachment; afewpics doesn't keep a long-term copy. Only a small, compressed thumbnail is kept temporarily, to show your own weekly grid back to you.

Who data is shared with

afewpics doesn't sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes. It runs on Supabase (database and file storage) and Vercel (hosting), which process data only on afewpics's behalf, to run the app.

Disconnecting Google

You can disconnect Google at any time from your account page. That deletes your stored refresh token and revokes afewpics's access with Google directly. Everything else, your account, your circle, stays exactly as it was.

Deleting your account or data

There's no self-serve delete button yet. Email sharataka@gmail.com to request deletion of your account and associated data.
