Here's what afewpics actually does: it remembers who you'd send this to, and it rebuilds that list for you every single week, so you never have to.
Setting up your circle from scratch means trying to recall, off the top of your head, everyone you'd actually want to include. afewpics looks at who you already stay in touch with and suggests them instead, using Google access you can see and revoke anytime. After that, sending an update yourself would still mean rebuilding the Bcc line and starting the email over, every week, the kind of small chore that's exactly why people quietly stop after a month. afewpics skips it: one tap creates the draft, circle already Bcc'd, photos attached. You just add pictures and hit send.
WHY THIS EXISTS
I love getting a handful of photos from the people I'm closest to: what they did this week, who they saw, what made them laugh. I just don't get them nearly as often as I'd like, and I try to stay off Instagram and Facebook so I don't end up doomscrolling instead. I also kept forgetting to send my own back, and life is too busy to remember on your own.
So now something reminds me, once a week, and Gmail does the rest.

- Why do I sign in with Google?
- Two reasons: we can build your weekly draft automatically, photos attached and ready to send, and we can quickly suggest the people you actually stay in touch with, including a few useful patterns like a birthday mentioned in a subject line, instead of you typing in a whole address book by hand. We only ever read subject lines and who a message is to/from, never the body of an email, and we never send anything without you actually doing it. Prefer not to? - Do I need to install anything?
- No. afewpics runs in the browser and does its work inside your own Gmail. There's no app to download and nothing new to check.
- Does afewpics ever send email for me, or read my emails?
- Neither. It creates a draft (photos attached, your circle already BCC'd) and stops there. You're the one who reads it over and hits send. For suggestions, we look at who you've emailed and when, plus subject lines for a few useful patterns like a birthday mention. We never read the body of any email.
- Who can see my photos?
- Only the people you've added to your circle. There's no public feed, no discovery, nothing indexed or shared beyond the exact people you chose.
- What if I miss a week?
- Nothing happens. You just skip it. The next reminder comes the following Sunday, same as always.
- Can I change who's in my circle later?
- Yes, anytime. Add or remove people from your circle page whenever you want.
- Are my full-resolution photos stored somewhere?
- No. Only a lightweight thumbnail is kept temporarily to build your weekly grid. The full-size files go straight into your Gmail draft, not into long-term storage.
